This is a solid product. The inner lining of the bladder feels almost fabric in the way its made and you can definitely tell that it is good quality. Doesn’t leak with the closed lid and seems true to the dimensions.

The one thing that kinda bothers me is that there is a solid plastic stem in the center of the bite piece, which makes it not as soft and kinda awkward when I bite down. The ring where the dust cover attaches to the hose also came broken. I will be contacting the seller about a replacement due to the ring defect.
Update: I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one with the ring intact. Everything seems to be functioning properly.
I tried two different hydration belts for my long runs, but they were too bouncy or uncomfortable around my waist. I carried water bottles in my hands for quite some time until I saw someone wearing a hydration vest and decided to try it myself. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! The SHARKMOUTH has been a game-changer for me. It holds all my water, my cell phone, my GU gels, and supplements with room to spare, and zero discomfort! The vest is very light, so the only real weight you feel is what you pack.

It holds all my water, my cell phone, my GU gels, and supplements with room to spare, and zero discomfort! The vest is very light, so the only real weight you feel is what you pack. I chose this over the Camelbak model because it had the insulation for the water pouch to help keep the water cool. It’s not as good as a properly insulated water bottle, of course, but I did notice it keeps the water cooler than my large Camelbak I use for hiking and mountain biking. I was initially worried about the stability with the single strap vs. the two straps on the Camelbak, but I’m happy to say the single strap works great keeping the vest secure to the torso. You can adjust the position of the chest strap seamlessly by sliding it up and down, and it stays perfectly in position once strapped (and it doesn’t have to be very tight either). I position the strap above my chest to avoid my HRM, and everything feels secure. I only wish I had found this sooner and avoided all those unpleasant runs with the hydration belts or holding a big water bottle! I highly recommend this product to any runner.

I’m 5’9, 155 pounds, and this backpack still manages to not adjust correctly. I did in fact not receive the rotatable clip for holding the tip of my water nozzle, but the company made it right so I’m not going to fuss about it. In fact, the customer service was very pleasant to deal with and responded very quickly.

Cons: The backpack sits too low on your back (touching your butt); which is not good for running or hiking long treks. If you want the sternum straps to actually be on your sternum and not below your breasts (or chest), then the backpack will be touching the top of your butt. See my photos and you can see where the straps sit on my front side. This backpack would have gotten higher ratings if the top strap was removable and adjustable in that manner.
As far as cons go, that’s about it. The backpack doesn’t sit right for long runs, but is not bad for short jogs under a couple of miles. So I would give it 3 stars for running.
This backpack gets between 4 and 5 stars for hiking, but gets uncomfortable after 5 or 6 miles of steep inclines.
Pros: Nice, compact backpack for throwing a few snacks and a lightweight rain jacket into.
The insulated pocket for the water bladder keeps the water cold for a couple of hours on warmer days and several hours on cooler days (given you add ice).
. Perfect amount of pockets and zippers for organizing your smaller gear like flashlights, keys, pocket knives, snacks, phones, headphones, etc.
.This backpack took a while to get wet when it started snowing on my last hike, but it’s small enough to fit under a rain coat to keep everything dry if need be.
.I love the looks and material of this backpack; it does not feel cheap in any way. The zippers have held up very nicely. The patch it comes with is awesome.
So all in all, it depends on how extreme of a runner\hiker you are. You can also ride dirtbikes with this as it works just fine. If you aren’t going on some crazy long day trip: then this is probably for you. I will continue using this for my less extreme adventures, but not so much for anything over 10 miles.
